Lefty Grove was a 9-time ERA leader (4 consecutive), the 1931 MVP with a 2.06 ERA and an outstanding 31-4 record following two World Series Championships in 1929 and 1930. Grove won two pitching Triple Crowns (1930 & 1931), leading the league in ERA, Wins and Strikeouts. He led the league in strikeouts his first 7 consecutive seasons with the Athletics and a 6-time All-Star, joining Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in the inaugural All-Star game in 1933. Grove retired after the 1941 season with a career 300-141 record, earning him a place in the elite 300 Win Club.
Grove was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947.
