The 1962 Cy Young Award winner pitched for the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers for his entire 14 year Major League career. He led the Dodgers to three World Championships and is remembered for pitching 6 consecutive shutouts with 58.2 scoreless innings. Drysdale led the league with 25 wins and strikeouts (232) in 1962, only slightly ahead of teammate Sandy Koufax. The 9-time All-Star also led in strikeouts in 1959 and 1960.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1984.
