Addie Joss was a prominent American baseball player, born on April 12, 1880, and passed away tragically at a young age on April 14, 1911. He was a pitcher for the Cleveland Naps (now the Cleveland Guardians) in Major League Baseball. Joss was known for his remarkable control and pinpoint accuracy, which earned him the nickname "The Human Hairpin."
His career was relatively short but incredibly successful, highlighted by a perfect game on October 2, 1908, making him one of only 23 pitchers in MLB history to achieve this feat. Despite his untimely death, Addie Joss's impact on the game of baseball remains significant, as he is remembered as one of the greatest pitchers of his era.
