Former New York Yankees Don Larsen and Hank Bauer joined the Athletics in 1966 after trading Roger Maris, Jon DeMaestri and Kent Hadley to New York. The Yankees won the 1960 AL pennant while the Athletics struggled, completing the season in 8th with a 59-96 record. It wasn’t until 1968 when the Athletics moved to Oakland that they managed to secure a winning record and dominated the American League and Major League baseball with three consecutive World Series Championships from 1972-1974.
